Laser hair removal
For the procedures, we use the latest Lumenis LightSheer Desire device, which has been recognized by professionals around the world as one of the best. It is safe, effective and provides excellent and long-lasting results.
A better laser hair removal effect is achieved with the help of vacuum technology. Thanks to the vacuum, the hair follicles are closer to the laser pulse during the laser hair removal procedure. The skin is gently “sucked” into the device, in this way the density of melanocytes is reduced, and the hair follicles are closer to the energy sources and the laser heat goes directly into the hair follicle, destroying or destroying it.
We provide laser hair removal procedures in our clinic in Riga, Marijas Street 13-1, 3rd floor. The entrance to the RE.NEW clinic can be found walking from Berga Bazar. The safe and high-quality conduct of the procedures is ensured by our experienced specialists Ramona Bergfelde, Jekaterīna Suhoparova and Laura Agnese Pauliņa.

Laser hair removal is a procedure that is suitable for both women and men, offering an effective solution for long-term hair removal in various areas of the body. This procedure has become very popular due to its effectiveness, comfort and long-term results.
How does laser hair removal work?
Laser hair removal uses a focused beam of light emitted by a laser machine. This beam of light is precisely targeted at the hair follicle, where it is absorbed by the melanin (pigment) in the hair. The laser energy is converted into heat, which destroys the hair follicle, preventing hair regrowth. The procedure is safe and usually painless, thanks to modern cooling systems that minimize discomfort.
Advantages of laser hair removal
Laser hair removal offers several advantages over traditional hair removal methods, such as shaving, waxing, and electrolysis.
1. Long-term results
Laser hair removal provides long-term hair removal because the laser light destroys the hair follicles, preventing them from producing new hair. After a course of several treatments, patients notice a significant reduction in hair or even permanent elimination.
2. Precision
Laser technology allows you to precisely target hair follicles without damaging the surrounding tissue. This is especially important if you want to remove hair from specific, small areas, such as the upper lip or bikini line.
3. In most cases, the procedure is completely painless
Compared to other hair removal methods, laser hair removal is usually less painful or even completely painless. Modern devices are equipped with cooling systems that help reduce discomfort during the procedure. The Lumenis LightSheer Desire laser system used at RE.NEW clinic uses vacuum technology, which, compared to other devices used in the industry, reduces the discomfort of the procedure and makes the procedure completely painless. When performing the procedure with a vacuum tip, the patient can feel a slight tightening of the skin and does not feel any laser pulse compared to other system tips or other devices. Lumenis LightSheer Desire is available in several tips, with and without a vacuum effect.
Laser hair removal course for maximum effectiveness
Laser hair removal is a very effective method for long-term hair removal, but the maximum desired result can usually only be achieved after a full course of treatments. The effectiveness of laser hair removal is based on the ability of the laser to destroy hair follicles that are in the active growth phase. Since not all hairs grow at the same time, several treatments are required to ensure that all follicles are treated.
A course usually consists of 6 to 10 treatments, performed at intervals of 4 to 6 weeks. This interval allows the skin to rest and the hairs to enter the active growth phase, which is most favorable for the effectiveness of the laser. Regular intervals between sessions ensure that each subsequent treatment can treat as many active hair follicles as possible.

Preparing for laser hair removal
-
• 10-14 days before the procedure, do not visit a solarium or sunbathe in direct sunlight to reduce the risk of skin irritation and pigmentation. -
• Before the procedure, carefully shave the hair in the area to be epilated. After shaving, you should not treat the shaved areas with creams, deodorants or other similar substances to avoid skin irritation.
-
• Do not use skin-irritating substances, medications and ointments for a week before the procedure to ensure skin health and reduce the risk of possible side effects.
-
• It is important to follow the specialist's recommended procedure schedule and all rules for laser hair removal in order to achieve maximum effectiveness and safe procedure.

Laser hair removal procedure
-
• The procedure is performed by a certified specialist who provides a professional and safe service. -
• The specialist uses a laser device applicator to treat the entire area of skin where hair needs to be removed. The laser beam focuses on the hair follicles, destroying them and inhibiting the growth of new hairs.
-
• The duration of the procedure depends on the size of the area being treated. Smaller areas, such as above the lip or armpit, require less time, while larger areas, such as the legs or back, require more time.
-
• The procedure is painless. Some patients may experience slight discomfort or tingling, but most clients report minimal or no pain during the procedure.

What to consider after a laser hair removal procedure
-
• You can resume your daily activities immediately after the procedure, as laser hair removal does not require a special recovery period. -
• Avoid sunbathing for two weeks after laser hair removal to reduce the risk of skin irritation and pigmentation. This includes both direct sun exposure and visits to a tanning bed.
-
• During a laser hair removal course, regrown hairs should not be epilated, pulled out, or otherwise traumatized by the hair follicle, as this may interfere with the effectiveness of the laser. Hair can only be shaved.
-
• Avoid saunas and other heating procedures for a few days after laser hair removal to allow the skin to recover and reduce the risk of irritation.
-
• Within 10-14 days, hair begins to fall out. This is a normal process that indicates the effectiveness of the procedure. During this period, it is important not to use epilation methods that injure the hair follicles.

Advantages of laser hair removal in the winter -
• Less sun exposure to the skin. In winter, there is less sunlight, which reduces the risk of skin burns and pigmentation problems after laser hair removal. -
• Lower intensity of sunlight. In winter, the intensity of sunlight is lower, which also reduces the risk of skin damage and allows the skin to recover more effectively after the procedure.
-
• Easier recovery process. Since people often have fewer activities at the beach and pools in winter, the skin is less exposed to external factors that could affect the recovery process. This means that it is easier to avoid the effects of UV rays and other potential problems after laser hair removal.
-
• Longer time to prepare for the summer season. By performing laser hair removal in the winter, there is more time to perform the required number of procedures and achieve the desired result by the summer season, when the skin will be smooth and ready for sunbathing.
Factors that affect the number of treatments needed
1. Skin and hair type
Laser hair removal works best on dark hair and light skin because the laser targets the melanin in the hair follicle. People with lighter hair or darker skin may need more treatments to achieve the desired results.
2. Hormonal fluctuations
Hormonal changes, such as those associated with puberty, pregnancy, or menopause, can affect the hair growth cycle. Hormonal imbalances may require additional treatments to achieve and maintain results.
3. Body area being treated
Different areas of the body respond differently to laser hair removal. For example, laser hair removal in the bikini area will be more noticeable than a treatment on the legs.
4. Individual response to the treatment
Each person is unique, and individual reactions to laser hair removal can vary greatly. Some people may see results faster, while others may need more treatments to achieve similar results.
